We started out the day by pitching our ideas to Michael.
Here’s a few key points
-
He thought the digital experiments were a good
idea. We should make them simple and say in the report that this is what we
choose to illustrate the concept, not that we hadn’t learned enough to make
them better or really flashy.
-
We shouldn’t put the mission, vision and values
in the about us section on the website if it weren’t the official ones, made by
the museum. Then we could just put it in the business part of the report after
we’ve analyzed the company, and discuss why we think their mission, vision and
values are so and so.
-
We could do the communication plan idea on our
website even though the museum currently doesn’t offer it. Michael said that
sometimes museums make money on selling educational materials. Added value to
the client!
-
It’s a good idea to try to capture the ambiance
of the place and implement it on the website.
-
We should make the website appeal to kids and
young teens (especially since they all have smartphones and are online now) as
well as the people who bring them there.
-
It’s important to try to add value to the
company.
After the pitch we found a print shop and printed out 30
surveys. We also printed three posters, with a QR code that led straight to the
online survey. We then went to the museum and started annoying German people
with our questions. There was a lot of kids and teachers from schools and we
handed out surveys to both. We asked everyone if they were interested in
helping us and in the end we had around 30 completed surveys. You can see the
results in a later blogpost. We put up the QR codes as well but the management
had us take them down. Whatever.
We haven’t made official personas yet, but we thought about
it and discussed it in the group once we had a look at the surveys. We figured
one persona could be a student on a school trip, another could be a teacher or an
event planner that organizes such trips, and a third could be a mother or a
father on a day trip with their kids.
That’s it for now.
